Mr. Dallo began training in the martial arts at approximately age 9. A childhood friend's parent studied the arts and became his teacher. At age 14, Mr. Dallo first read Bruce Lee's The Tao of Jeet Kune Do. He read it cover-to-cover and began formulating and practicing his own workouts and training methods. At age 16 - upon obtaining his driver's license - he began formal training at martial arts schools.

In 1995, while a senior in high school, he entered The Challenge of Blood, Sweat, and Tears - Michigan's first no-holds-barred "freestyle" competition. Nervous, yet eager to test his abilities, Mr. Dallo entered the tournament... and won. He finished his first opponent by arm bar well before the UFC gained any popularity.
